Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy

I’m an accredited integrative counsellor and psychotherapist and accredited EMDR therapist, offering a calm, supportive space where you can explore what’s going on for you, at your own pace.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked in education and later within NHS mental health services (CAMHS). Through this, I saw first-hand how many people can get stuck in their struggle with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and the lasting impact of difficult experiences (especially from childhood). I also saw the impact that a skilled and empathic listener can have in helping people to become unstuck and to find their way towards greater health, wellbeing and more fulfilling lives.

That’s what led me to this work.

How I work

I believe that no two people are the same and therapy shouldn’t be either.

My approach is integrative, which means I draw from different types of therapy depending on what you need. This may include:

  • Person-centred therapy to create a space where you feel heard and understood
  • Psychodynamic and attachment-informed to explore how the past is influencing the present
  • EMDR therapy to help process trauma and past experiences
  • IFS-informed therapy for working with emotional parts of self and internal conflicts
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) for practical support and coping strategies

We can work together to gently explore patterns, understand what’s beneath the surface, and find ways forward that feel manageable and meaningful for you.

What it’s like to work with me

Clients often come to me feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to start.

In our sessions, you’ll find a space that is:

  • Warm and non-judgemental
  • Thoughtful and paced around you
  • Focused on helping you feel understood, not analysed

I offer in-person and online sessions, so you can choose what works best for you.

You don’t need to have everything figured out. We can start wherever you are.

Qualifications & experience

  • BACP Accredited Counsellor & Psychotherapist
  • Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy
  • Qualified and accredited EMDR Therapist (EMDR UK)
  • Training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy (in progress)

I also undertake regular training courses, additional supervision and professional consultation, alongside continued reflective and targeted professional development as an ongoing investment in enhancing my practice. This is often informed directly by the clients I am working with to allow me to provide tailored and enhanced levels of personalised support.

A note on starting therapy

Reaching out can feel like a big step.

If you’re unsure, you’re very welcome to get in touch and/or book a free 15-minute consultation — a chance to ask questions and see if working together feels right for you.

I practice from a dedicated office space located in my peaceful and secluded garden in Denby Dale.

Clients often describe the space as grounding, calming and peaceful and they appreciate the sense of safety and comfort this brings to our sessions and the island of tranquility and recalibration this provides in their week.
